My husband took Big Boy to the shooting range the other day. That's right, folks. We let our 5 year old shoot guns, under the teachings and supervision of his gun-expert father. We are heathens, we know.
On the trip home from their day of ripping paper targets to shreds, Big Boy told his daddy, "We have the funnest family because we do fun stuff all the time. We go camping and hiking and fishing and on bike rides and to the park all the time."
Sweet! If ever I needed validation that I was giving my children a happy, fun-filled childhood there it was. Isn't that what every parent wants?

Sounds like a great afternoon of "boy time". We let our kids do the same thing and the girls enjoy shooting as much as our son:)

I think teaching kids gun safety and how to shoot is great. They learn respect for a firearm and what it can do......and its fun!
